Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative mission is to be the healthiest state by 2016. Currently Iowa is ranked number nine, and has moved up seven rankings from #16 just last year. Governor Terry Branstad has declared September “Aronia Berry Month.” As our focus turns to the health of Iowans, this new and pioneering agriculture crop could be just what Iowa needs to achieve #1 status by 2016.
